Modesto man picks the worst helicopter possible to mess with
A Modesto man was arrested for shining a laser pointer at a sheriff helicopter in flight early Saturday morning.
At about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department Air101 helicopter was patrolling over the city of Modesto when it began being hit by a green laser light. The pilot and flight officer were able to direct Modesto Police Department officers to the house where the light was coming from.
Officers went to the home on the 2100 block of Norman Way, and observed the suspect pointing at the aircraft the laser from the yard. They arrested Anthony Jones, 31. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on felony charge of discharging a laser light at an aircraft.
