Ceres police find Oklahoma man accused of molesting girls
A 24-year-old Oklahoma man accused of "inappropriately touching" girls in Ceres has surrendered to authorities.
On Tuesday afternoon, Ceres police investigators were asking the public to help find Christopher James Porter. He was wanted for questioning, and investigators feared he could be leaving California to return to Oklahoma.
Police officials announced that Porter turned himself in and was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail, according to an update posted on the Ceres Police Department's Facebook page.
On Thursday evening, Porter was booked at the jail on two counts of committing lewd or lascivious acts with a child and two counts of child molestation.
Porter on Sunday morning remained in custody at the jail. His bail amount was set at $100,000. His first court appearance had not been scheduled, and prosecutors had not yet formally charged Porter.
