Teenage victim in Empire homicide identified

Michael Webster, 16, of Modesto was the victim of the homicide in Empire on Friday night, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said Sunday.

Webster was killed and two other males were injured in a shooting at a large party on the 4800 block of McNary Court, authorities said.

Shots were reported at about 11:20 p.m. at the scene, north of Yosemite Boulevard and just off Church Street, Sgt. Josh Sandoval said Saturday. Webster died at a hospital. The other two, whose names and ages were not released, are expected to survive, Sandoval said.

No information on a suspect has been released. Detectives believe witnesses left the party after the shooting. Anyone with information about the case can contact Detective Hickman at 209-525-7042.
