Three shot, 16-year-old killed after shooting during party in Empire
A 16-year-old boy was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a large party in Empire on Friday night, authorities said.
Shots rang out about 11:20 p.m. at the gathering in the 4800 block of McNary Court, which is north of Yosemite Boulevard just off Church Street, according to Sgt. Josh Sandoval of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
All three men were transported to area hospitals. The 16-year-old died at the hospital. The other two victims, both males whose ages are not being revealed by authorities, are expected to survive.
Detectives worked throughout the night processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses who were still at the party.
Detectives believe that there are witnesses who left the party after the shooting and are asking that those people come forward to help provide information on the investigation.
There was no information on a suspect Saturday.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Det. Hickman 209-525-7042.
This is the second homicide in two days – and the second of 2018 – in Stanislaus County.
