DUI patrols this weekend in Modesto

Officers will look for drunken drivers this weekend starting Friday night with roving saturation patrols in Modesto.

The patrols are made up of officers assigned solely to look for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs in areas with frequent DUI crashes or arrests, according to Modesto police.

The department will deploy the patrols again on Saturday night in Modesto. The DUI enforcement is funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
