Man kicks in door of Modesto home, arrested for home invasion robbery
A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of home-invasion robbery Saturday when he kicked in the door of a downtown Modesto home and accused the victims of being child molesters.
The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. when the man, Rodney Abel, began kicking the front door of a home in the 700 block of Downey Avenue.
Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves said Abel was yelling at the residents, saying that he lived there and that they were child molesters.
Abel managed to break open the door and briefly get inside, Graves said, before the victims forced him out and held the door closed as the suspect continued to kick.
He still was kicking the door when officers arrived and took him into custody.
