Update: Modesto police investigating double shooting in McHenry, Orangeburg area

Two people were shot following a fight in the area of McHenry and East Orangeburg avenues in Modesto on Monday afternoon, authorities said. The wounds were not life-threatening, police said.

The suspects remain at large. They were last seen leaving the area in the silver SUV, according to Sgt. Kalani Souza of the Modesto Police Department.

The two victims – an adult man and adult woman – were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, Souza said.

The two victims were outside a business in the area when the fight – and eventual shooting – took place at approximately 1:45 p.m.

The suspects were known to the victims, Souza said

Orangeburg Avenue between McHenry and Florida Avenue was closed.
