Victim of fatal shooting near Ceres identified

The man killed in a shooting just outside Ceres early this month was identified by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department as 38-year-old Jorge Daniel Quijano.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bejaran said Tuesday morning there was no additional information in the case to release.

About 2:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, deputies and Ceres police officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting on the 3400 block of McGee Road, southeast of Mitchell Road and East Whitmore Avenue.

Quijano was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The murder investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to call Detective M. Fisher at 209-525-7083.
