Police investigating suspicious death in east Modesto

Police are investigating a man's shooting death outside a residence in east Modesto.

Early Wednesday, police and medical responders were dispatched to shots fired at the Fara Estates condominiums on the 4000 block of Fara Biundo Drive.

A man was found suffering a gunshot wound, according to fire and police officials. AMR and Modesto Fire Department personnel administered CPR and took the man to Memorial Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Detectives are gathering evidence to determine the circumstances of the shooting, said Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves. "At this point, it's considered a suspicious death."

Information was not available Wednesday morning on whether any weapon was found at the scene.
