A Modesto man was arrested Monday night after allegedly stealing his friend's marijuana and pot brownie, then threatening her and her mom with a gun.

The incident occurred at Modesto Junior College's east campus at about 9 p.m.

The suspect and his friend had planned to smoke marijuana together but he grabbed the bag from her, as well as a marijuana brownie, and and ran off, said Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves.

The 18-year-old woman called her mother and the two went looking for the suspect, finding him at a bus stop nearby on Tully Road, Graves said.

When they confronted him he brandished a firearm and threatened them, Graves said.

Police found the suspect, 18-year-old Asante Maurice Lamonte Hall, at his home in the 2200 block of Chrysler Drive.

He is on probation so officers searched his room, where they found a firearm and the bag of marijuana, Graves said. The marijuana brownie was not located.

Hall was arrested on suspicion of robbery, making criminal threats and brandishing a firearm.
