Sheriff's Department investigating shooting death near Ceres
Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department deputies are investigating a shooting death just outside Ceres.
At about 2:55 a.m. Friday, deputies and Ceres police officers were dispatched to the 3400 Block of McGee Road for a person who had been shot, according to a news release by the Sheriff's Department.
When deputies and emergency services personnel arrived, they found a Latino male adult with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
As the 8 a.m. hour approached, the body lay in the roadway about 100 yards south of Roeding Road and a curtain was put up by crime scene investigators. McGee was blocked off to all traffic at Roeding to the North and Don Pedro Road to the south.
The victim has not been positively identified and there is no suspect information, the Sheriff's Department said later Friday morning.
