Three men take medications from Walgreens on McHenry Avenue, Modesto police say

Three men grabbed medications and ran from a Walgreens store in central Modesto on Thursday, police said.

The medications, of an unknown type, were taken from behind a counter at the store at McHenry and Roseburg avenues at about 7:30 a.m., Lt. Ivan Valencia of the Modesto Police Department said.

Officers got conflicting information about whether the thieves walked from the scene or drove away in a light-colored pickup truck, he said.

Police responded in the late afternoon to a report that a suspect vehicle might be on Mills Avenue, about half a mile to the west of Walgreens. Officers blocked part of the street for a while but did not find a suspect.

A Walgreens customer ran and fell during the theft and was treated for a leg injury, Valencia said.
