A Ceres man remained in critical condition Tuesday after being stabbed, allegedly by his son, over the weekend.

The 46-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds to his upper body at a home in the 1000 block of Sun Meadow Drive Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Greg Yotsuya.

Investigators learned the victim had been stabbed by his 27-year-old son, Carlos Macias, who had fled the home before officers arrived, Yotsuya said.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Late Saturday night, Ceres Police learned Macias had returned to the home where the assault occurred. Officers apprehended Macias there without incident.

He was booked into the county jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Bryan Ferreira at 209-538-5616.
