Homicide victims found at home east of Riverbank identified

The men found dead behind a county home south of Oakdale and east of Riverbank on Thursday afternoon were identified as Alfredo Marcado Lomeli and Martin Alvarez Jr., the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department said Friday.

Lomeli, 32, and Alvarez, 24, both lived at the home on Claribel Road east of Langworth Road. Deputy Royjindar Singh said they are victims of homicide but detectives will not say how they were killed.

Their bodies were found near a shop behind the home Thursday morning by another man who lives at the home, who is not considered a suspect, Singh said.

Deputies also found a marijuana grow on the property. Detectives are still working to determine a motive including whether the marijuana played a role.

No suspects have been identified, Singh said.

Anyone with information regarding the homicides is asked to call Detective Marissa Wyatt at 209-525-7091.
