Deputies seek man suspected of pulling knife in attempted beer theft near Ceres
A man pulled a pocket knife on a store clerk south of Ceres during an attempted beer theft Tuesday, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Deputies responded to a 3:08 p.m. call at Central Market, on Central Avenue south of Turner Road, Sgt. Jesus Sigala said. The robber fled in a car driven by another man, but a witness provided a photo of the license plate, he said.
Jackie Sutton, 24, of Modesto, suspected of driving the getaway car, was arrested on an armed robbery charge at his Modesto home.
The other man remains at large. He was described as white, in his 20s, wearing a white shirt and a San Francisco 49ers ball cap at the time of the robbery.
