Police: One man dies, another wounded, in west Modesto shooting Monday afternoon

One man died and another was wounded in a Monday afternoon shooting in west Modesto, police said.

The unidentifed victims were shot in the street on Sutter Avenue just north of Nian Way, spokeswoman Heather Graves of the Modesto Police Department said. Details on the suspect and the wounded man’s condition were not available soon after the shooting, which was reported at about 4:45 p.m.
