Pill found in crib with two-month old child during security check at Modesto home
The parents of a two-month old child were arrested Monday after Modesto Police found drug paraphernalia near her and some type of pill next to her in her crib.
Child Protective Services requested officers do a security check on the child, who lived in a trailer on a property on Madera Avenue, said Sgt. Mike Hammond.
He said the home was unkempt and packed full of items, making it difficult to maneuver around inside.
“There was a 2-month-old child in a crib and inside the crib was some type of controlled substance,” Hammond said. It was a single pill, he said, but didn’t know what type.
Next to the crib was a glass pipe and uncapped syringes.
Jesse Craig Bennett, 28, and Megan Ann Paulk, 25, were arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance.
