Modesto man convicted of producing child porn images
A 44-year-old Modesto man faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life in federal prison for using a web cam to produce sexually explicit images of a girl, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Sacramento.
Danny Shatswell Jr. on Thursday pleaded guilty to producing visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on June 4.
Federal prosecutors said the girl reported to law enforcement officials that Shatswell was abusing her. When they searched his electronic storage devices and equipment, the investigators discovered the sexually explicit images that Shatswell produced of the victim in 2010 and 2011.
This case is the result of an investigation by the Modesto Police Department, the FBI and the Sacramento County sheriff’s High Tech Crimes Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Rodriguez prosecuted the case.
