$13,000 donation to help Modesto police fight sex trafficking

Without Permission, a Modesto nonprofit organization committed to ending the “culture of human trafficking” in the Central Valley, has donated $13,000 to the Modesto Police Department.

The funds were raised through community donations and will be used to purchase technology and equipment to help with case development and the prosecution of crimes related to human trafficking, according to a news release from the department.

Without Permission held its first training in 2011 to educate the community and law enforcement agencies about sex trafficking. Mobilizing the community to serve the focused areas of “prevention, justice and restoration” has made an impact to more than 90 local victims, according to the news release.

The Community Services Agency, Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, Family Justice Center, Stanislaus County Office of Education, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and Modesto Police Department all have benefited from the collaborative relationship and work of Without Permission, the news release said.
