Modesto police investigate shooting that sends two to the hospital

Modesto police are investigating a shooting that sent two people to the hospital early Monday night.

The victims were privately transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, according to Heather Graves, Modesto Police Department spokeswoman.

The shooting occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Western Way, Graves said. The vehicle with the victims had last been seen near downtown Modesto.

There was no immediate suspect information or known whereabouts. Officers were canvassing the area around Western Way and Colorado Avenue, where the suspect vehicle may have last been seen.
