Oakdale man faces charges of possessing child pornography
A 60-year-old Oakdale man was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of possessing child pornography.
Oakdale police got a tip in December that resident Michael Bidwell was downloading the pornography, said Police Department spokeswoman Janeen Yates.
An investigation led to the serving of multiple search warrants, and investigators found about 2,000 digital images in Bidwell’s possession, she said.
Bidwell was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail and faces charges of knowingly possessing child pornography and knowingly developing, duplicating, printing or exchanging it.
