A man was in serious condition after he was stabbed in the parking lot of Sutter Gould Medical Foundation on Sunday.

The man, in his 20s, was involved in a fight at the medical center at 600 Coffee Road about 3 p.m. He was stabbed in the abdomen, according to Modesto police Sgt. Garrett Crawford. He did not know what the fight was about.

The victim ran into Sutter Gould’s urgent care facility and from there was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery.

One person was detained late Sunday afternoon.
