Sonora police looking for information, witnesses to downtown assault

Sonora police are seeking witnesses to, or anyone with information about, a felony assault committed Nov. 25.

About 11:20 that Friday night, officers were dispatched to the Sonora Regional Medical Center emergency room for a 50 year-old man assaulted downtown earlier that evening.

“The assault victim suffered significant injuries to his head following a disturbance which took place between Hot Shotz Sports Bar and Grill and the Office Bar on Washington Street,” according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Police have limited information on who was involved and ask anyone who knows more to call the department at 209-532-8143.
