Second suspect arrested in double stabbing at Modesto mobile home park

A second suspect was arrested in connection with a double stabbing at a trailer park last week.

A 54-year-old woman and 56-year-old man were stabbed multiple times at the Country Western Mobile Home Park on South Carpenter Road on Nov. 22. Both survived.

The following day, Phillip Turley, 53, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and burglary when he returned to the park. Turley was featured on a TNT true-crime show as a prime suspect in a grisly 1995 murder in Arizona.

On Saturday, Alisha Gomes, 28, was arrested in connection with the stabbing, said Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Sgt. Anthony Bejaran. She’d been wanted on suspicion of attempted murder and burglary when law enforcement got a tip Saturday that she was at a hospital in Stockton.

Detectives responded and arrested Gomes.

Bejaran would not say how detectives identified her as a suspect and what part she is believed to have played in the stabbing. He also would not say what she and Turley are suspected of burglarizing or if detectives have determined a motive.
