What: TOY TRAIN ASSOCIATION MEETING

Info: San Joaquin Valley Toy Train Operators Inc. holds its monthly meeting. There will be trains for sale – G gauge, O gauge and N scale – a 50/50 raffle drawing and group sharing of information regarding shows. The group meets the first Sunday of each month. Info: Gregori High is having an informational meeting regarding Small Learning Community and Unique Programs. The event is designed for eighth-grade students and parents and will feature information on Gregori’s four small learning communities: Career Technology, Global Studies, Visual Performing Arts and Digital Media & Business. What: FAMILY MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION COURSE

Where: National Alliance on Mental Health, 500 N. Ninth St.

Oakdale

What: BUNKO NIGHT

When: Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.

Where: Oakdale Grange Hall, 30 Lambuth Ave.

Newman

What: CRAZY 8’S MATH CLUB

When: Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m.

Where: Newman branch of the Stanislaus County Library, 1305 Kern St.

Info: Young children are invited to participate in the Crazy 8’s Math Club, a program that helps children learn basic math skills in a fun, engaging environment. The program is held every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. during February. Its schedule of events:

▪ Wednesday: “Glow in the Dark Geometry,” in which participants can create shapes and patterns using glow sticks.

▪ Feb. 11: Children can “Get Loud” by assembling a working flute and playing instruments made out of various gadgets.

▪ Feb. 18: “The Time of Your Life,” where children will race to complete crazy stunts and “be” a clock.

▪ Feb. 25: “Toilet Paper Olympics,” in which children will learn how to measure their feats in the shot put, long jump and relay race.

The Crazy 8’s Math Club is designed for children in preschool through second grade. For more information, call the Newman library at (209) 862-2010.
