Coroner seeking family of Modesto male transient

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office is seeking the family of a transient man who died last week.

Manfred Reitz, 61, was found on the ground in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot at Oakdale Road and Scenic Drive in front of a van he’d recently purchased. He was taken by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Reitz was known to frequent The Salvation Army’s shelter in Modesto but recently had been living out of the van.

Reitz’s family or anyone with information about his family is asked to call Detective Adam Rodriguez at (209) 567-453.
