Checks distributed from annual Book of Dreams

Representatives from 10 local nonprofit groups gathered at The Modesto Bee on Thursday morning, where The Bee and the Stanislaus Community Foundation distributed checks from the annual Book of Dreams fundraising effort.

The 2014 campaign brought in more than $56,000, with proceeds benefiting Jessica’s House, Chemo Crew, Blessings in a Backpack, the Stanislaus County Police Activities League, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Teens Run Modesto, Modesto Empire Little League, Area Agency on Aging, Senior Law Project and Modesto Gospel Mission.
