What: RÉSUMÉ WORKSHOP

Info: Résumé expert Roberta “Bobbi” Scherrer will lead a free workshop that will take participants through the basics of résumé writing. Participants must bring a completed résumé worksheet, available at the Modesto Library Reference Desk or at www.stanislauslibrary.org. A working knowledge of computers and/or keyboarding is required for part of the workshop. Participants should bring their own flash drives to save any work. Advance registration is required. Info: The DelWood Neighborhood Alliance is holding a 2015 kickoff and potluck event. Attendees are asked to bring a dish of their choice to share. The event will feature guest speakers from the Modesto Police Department and the community.
What: SENIOR AEROBICS CLASSES
Info: The Healthy Aging Association offers free Young At Heart aerobics group exercise classes for people 60 and older. Classes are offered at 4120 Dale Road, Suite G, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and at the Modesto Senior Center, 211 Bodem St., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 to 9 a.m. Classes are also offered in Oakdale at 1275 E. What: VETERANS ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING
When: Monday, 5:30 p.m.
Where: Oakdale City Council chambers, 277 N. Second Ave.
Info: The Stanislaus County Veterans Advisory Commission will hold its monthly meeting. The commission is seeking participation from interested veterans and family members who are able to attend its meetings. The purpose of the commission is to represent all veterans in Stanislaus County by advising the county Board of Supervisors and staff on matters pertaining to veterans. YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: In a slow-paced game, the Modesto Junior College men’s basketball team was defeated by Sacramento City College, 63-59. The Pirates held the Panthers below their season average of 100 points per game and were led by Chris Perino’s 20 points and 16 rebounds.
