An ounce of prevention can keep flu at bay

Getting vaccinated is an effective way to prevent the flu and is recommended for anyone over the age of 6 months, says the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency. The vaccine is available at the public health facility at 820 Scenic Drive, Modesto. No appointments are necessary and the hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per child (6 months through 18 years) and $27 per adult.
