Hughson woman killed in Friday morning crash

A 60-year-old Hughson woman died Friday morning after her truck left the road and hit concrete drain pipe housing, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Blazer north on Santa Fe Avenue near South Avenue. The accident was reported at 6:40 a.m.

The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of her family, allowed the truck to drift to the left, over the southbound lanes and off the road. It went onto the dirt shoulder, where it hit the concrete. The woman was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities said the woman was wearing a seat belt and not using a cell phone when the accident occurred. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs was involved.
