Young fans of Lemony Snicket met the man behind the narrator, Daniel Handler, during a Sunday afternoon appearance at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto. Handler held a meet-and-greet for some readers of his “A Series of Unfortunate Events” books and other works before speaking to a crowd in the center’s Foster Theater. The event raised money for the Stanislaus Library Foundation. The best-selling author lives in San Francisco and has extended family in Modesto. He is working on a Netflix adaptation of the book series and also has written books for adult readers.
