Stanislaus home sales prices dip in October

Stanislaus County home sales prices dipped a bit during October, but values continue to be substantially higher than a year ago.

Median-priced homes sold for $215,000 last month, which was $5,000 less than September, according to property records gathered by CoreLogic DataQuest.

The county’s October prices were 13.2 percent higher than October 2013.

For much of this year, Stanislaus has led California in year-over-year home price gains.

Statewide, home prices are up 7 percent compared with last year. California’s median-priced homes sold for $382,000 this October, which was $7,000 less than September. Prices in many regions throughout the state dropped during October.

San Joaquin County’s home prices also edged down $7,000 in October to a median $263,000, which is 14.3 percent more than a year ago.

Tuolumne County bucked the downward trend. Its median-priced homes sold for $197,000 last month, up $7,500 from September. But homes there are only about 1 percent higher than they were a year ago.
