RIVERBANK HISTORIANS MARK VETERANS DAY
The Riverbank Historical Society will mark Veterans Day with a Tuesday morning program in honor of residents who have served in the military. Josephine Landon will talk about how the first peacetime draft was established. The exploits of Tony Acosta in the Battle of Luzon during World War II will be discussed. Other veterans are invited to share their stories. The meeting is part of the Memories Day series, held the second Tuesday of each month. It will be at 11 a.m. at the Riverbank Historical Museum, 3237 Santa Fe St.
RIPON POLICE PLAN COMMUNITY MEETING
The Ripon Police Department will host a community meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday to discuss issues in city neighborhoods. It will be at the department, 259 N. Wilma Ave. Officers will also provide information and safety tips that may be unique to specific areas. MANTECA FOUNDATION OFFERS GRANT MONEY
The Antone E. and Marie F. Raymus Foundation is accepting grant applications from local groups that focus on education, children or churches. The deadline is Feb. 6. Awards will be granted by June 26. Applications are available at Raymus Development and Sales Inc., 544 E. Yosemite Ave., Manteca, or can be obtained by calling (209) 823-3148.
