Turlock police investigating fatal crash on Geer Road

A 66-year-old man died from severe head trauma he suffered Thursday afternoon when he was hit by a car here.

The man was walking west across Geer Road when he was hit at a low speed by a silver Toyota turning right onto Geer from Minnesota Avenue just after 1p.m., according to Turlock police.

The man was not in a crosswalk. The 83-year-old woman driving the Toyota stopped at the scene.

A helicopter was dispatched, but ultimately an ambulance took the man to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name was not available Thursday afternoon.

The northbound lanes of Geer were closed at Minnesota while officers investigated the incident.
