Info: The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project is hosting a screening of the documentary film “The House I Live In.” The film, written and directed by Eugene Jarecki, contends that racial, political, and economic motives have shaped America’s drug policies and that the “war on drugs” is a misguided battle that hurts our communities more than helps them. YESTERYEARS
100 YEARS AGO: The Methodist Episcopal church and Sunday school announced the Sunday program would be planned around prohibition. The Sunday school planned songs to be sung by students, readings and addresses on how alcohol needs to be banned.
