Train hits, kills man near Riverbank
A man died after being hit by an Amtrak train Friday morning, according to authorities.
Authorities were called to the railroad tracks near Claribel Road and Terminal Avenue just before 9:15 a.m.
The man was declared dead at the scene. He has not yet been identified, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office, but appears to be white and about 40 years old.
The passenger train was stopped while authorities investigated the incident and cleared the scene.
