Rain returns to Modesto — on Halloween
The good news: There is finally a “rain likely” in the forecast for the Northern San Joaquin Valley.
The bad news: It’s on Friday, when thousands of little trick-or-treaters will be out on the roads for Halloween.
Prior to that, the week ahead will be mild and cool, the National Weather Service says. Highs are expected to reach the mid 70s to 80 or 81, with overnight lows sinking into the 40s.
A few clouds are headed this way, with some breezy conditions through the work week.
Change is expected to roll in on Friday, when a “significant, winter-like” storm rolls in, bringing rain and highs only in the lower 60s. That’s expected to stay through Saturday, clearing out on Sunday.
