‘Rubes’ cartoonist offers laughs, inside look

“Rubes” cartoonist Leigh Rubin brought his humorous program “A Twisted Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Waste” to The Modesto Bee on Thursday evening as part of The Bee’s Customer Appreciation Month celebration. Before a capacity audience, Rubin offered a laugh-out-loud look at his creative process. He shared how his observations of family and friends often resulted in specific panels, and five lucky attendees went home with signed “Rubes” prints Rubin gave as door prizes.
