Modesto gets glimpse of partial solar eclipse

For a few hours Thursday, the shadow of the moon appeared to take a bite out of the seemingly perfect sphere of the sun. The partial solar eclipse was visible in all of the United States except New England, and most of Canada, too. This photograph was taken Thursday afternoon in Modesto through a special solar filter.
