The theme for Fantozzi Farms’ 12th annual corn maze is “California ... Dying of Thirst.” The design includes those words along with an image of California and a “corny” replica of Grant Wood’s famous 1930 painting, “American Gothic.” “Normally, we plant 25 acres of corn for our maze,” Paul and Denise Fantozzi said in an email, “but this year, our design was inspired by the fact that the water shortage reduced the size of our maze by almost 50percent, resulting in a modest 13-acre corn maze. Despite its reduction in size, our corn maze and pumpkin patch operation provide plenty of fall fun to folks of all ages.” Fantozzi Farms is in Patterson and open through Oct. 31.
