Modesto region could get bit of a weather surprise. What’s in the week’s forecast

The Modesto region’s weather often can be a factor when the Stanislaus County Fair comes around.

And the fair is upon us, running through Sunday, July 19, in Turlock.

The coming week could have a day or two with some not-so-typical July weather, including one expected to be mostly cloudy and another holding a chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Nonetheless, it’s expected to be hot, with near but not quite triple digits in the forecast.

Here’s a look at the daily weather service predictions:

  • Sunday, July 12: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 94 degrees and a low around 69.
  • Monday, July 13: A 20 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 94, low around 68.
  • Tuesday, July 14: Sunny and hot, with a high approaching triple digits at 99, low around 67.
  • Wednesday, July 15: Sunny and hot, again with a high near 99, low of 65.
  • Thursday, July 16: Sunny and hot, with a high near 97, low around 64.
  • Friday, July 17: Sunny, with a high near 95, (no low logged as of early Saturday afternoon).
