Modesto escaped severe weather for Fourth. Here’s what’s in store the coming week

weather update

While Independence Day revelers in several areas of the nation suffered severe heat and other extreme weather, the Central Valley escaped harsh conditions.

As of early Saturday afternoon, the Modesto region’s high was expected to hit a relatively bearable 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service’s forecast.

That’s bearable by Central Valley standards for July, where triple digits might be expected.

A steady forecast in the low to the upper 90s remains for the Modesto region throughout the upcoming week.

Here’s a look at the daily weather service predictions:

  • Monday, July 6: Sunny with a high near 90, low of 59
  • Tuesday, July 7: Same as Monday, sunny with a high near 90, low of 59
