AT&T outage affects Stanislaus residents, Turlock city and police, more
Stanislaus County residents and agencies including Turlock City Hall, the Turlock Police Department and the Stanislaus County Jury Commissioner were impacted by an AT&T outage that began Tuesday morning.
According to AT&T spokesperson Caden Harris, the company is “working to restore home telephone and internet service to affected customers in the Modesto area following damage to our network caused by a third-party contractor.”
Several residents using AT&T for home internet services were also met with outages over the course of the day. County residents attempting to contact companies and agencies affected by the outage will be met with a dead line.
The Merced Police Department also posted on Facebook to inform Merced County residents that it was experiencing issues with 911 calls through the AT&T network and asked residents to temporarily call 209-388-7233 instead.
CSU Stanislaus posted on Instagram to let the campus community know that 911 service for the campus was temporarily unavailable due to the outage. Turlock PD posted that its dispatch phone lines were experiencing issues as well, asking non-emergency callers to temporarily use 209- 667-3911.
“We thank our customers for their patience as we’re actively working with this provider to resolve the issue so that service can be restored as quickly as possible,” Harris said.
