Update: At 12:34 p.m., Cal Fire reported that a coordinated air and ground attack quickly stopped the forward progress of the fire.

Original story: A wildfire in Tuolumne County has burned 120 acres since starting Tuesday morning around 3 a.m., according to the Cal Fire incident report. The Owl Fire started on the 11100 block of Highway 108 in Jamestown, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office.

It is running upslope and “aligned with terrain and wind,” Cal Fire reports, and officials are advising to avoid the area for public and firefighter safety. Cal Fire reports 0% containment, but no structure fires or injuries have been reported.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff said its deputies have cleared the scene, but fire personnel will be on the scene for an extended period of time.
