These detours are needed for final piece of upgraded 99/120 interchange in Manteca
One last round of overnight detours will finish up the upgraded junction of Highways 99 and 120 in Manteca.
They will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting late Sunday, June 28, to the following Thursday morning. The closures are on the ramp from eastbound 120 to southbound 99, where stripes will be painted for its new second lane.
The ramp will be especially useful for Stanislaus County residents returning home from Bay Area jobs. The project also includes a fourth southbound lane on 99 between 120 and Austin Road. A new bridge carries Austin between south and east Manteca.
Most of the $48 million project opened with a June 17 ribbon-cutting. The San Joaquin Council of Governments funded it with local, state and federal sources. It was built by Teichert Inc. of Sacramento.
The upcoming closures require a detour on northbound 99 to the Yosemite Avenue interchange. More details on the entire project are at sjcog.org.
