Downtown Modesto crash overturns car, sends driver to hospital and kills dog
The Modesto Police Department is investigating a rollover injury crash that occurred at 2:52 p.m. Thursday at 17th and I streets.
The Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to extricate the driver, who was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A dog in the vehicle died.
A wheelchair was observed next to the overturned car, but it is believed to have come from the vehicle, according to MPD spokesperson Herman Sahota.
No other vehicles were involved, and the circumstances of the crash have not been released. This story will be updated as information becomes available.
