Investigation slows traffic on Highway 120 near Knights Ferry, officials say

The Modesto Bee

A law enforcement investigation slowed traffic Friday along Highway 120 just west of Knights Ferry, though officials have released few details about the situation.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the investigation but said information remains limited.

Sgt. Michael Carranza said traffic in the area was reduced to one lane for a period of time, causing delays as Caltrans monitored conditions.

From his understanding, traffic controls were expected to be lifted soon, though motorists were still advised to avoid the area or expect slowdowns.

Officials have not said what prompted the investigation, and no additional information has been confirmed.

Carranza said he expects to provide updates if more information becomes available.
