Sperry Avenue ramps at I-5 closed near Patterson. What drivers should know
Drivers traveling along Interstate 5 near Patterson are being urged to use alternate routes after authorities closed the on- and off-ramps at Sperry Avenue following a law enforcement shooting.
The closures are expected to cause significant delays throughout Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Officer Aaron Fay said the ramp closures affect access to Patterson’s main exit, though he was not aware of any lane closures on I-5 itself.
Motorists traveling north or south on I-5 are advised to use Howard Road or Fink Road to bypass the closure.
The CHP is assisting with traffic control in the area alongside Caltrans, Fay said.
Authorities have not provided an estimate for when the ramps will reopen.
