Traffic delays expected with city road work in Modesto. What drivers need to know
Traffic delays are expected this week because of road work in both directions on Carpenter Road in Modesto near the Tuolumne River.
The city began the work Monday to grind and pave the roadway between Robertson Road and West Hatch Road. A detour for northbound motorists on Carpenter at Hatch will carry traffic to Crows Landing Road.
A notification says signal lights will be flashing and flaggers will assist traffic with getting through the construction zone on Carpenter. The road work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. will continue through Friday. The road is open to emergency vehicles, the notice says.
