"Glee" actress Dot-Marie Jones is "broken- hearted" that she'll be unable to serve as grand marshal at Friday's Centennial Homecoming Parade at Hilmar High School, her agent said this week.

The Hilmar native and Emmy nominee is needed for filming of the hit Fox series and it's "99 percent" certain that she'll be unable to make it up from Los Angeles for the event, Sid Levin said.

"She wants to badly, with her whole heart. She loves the people of Hilmar and she feels horrific," he said.

Jones let the high school know Tuesday that she was unlikely to be available, so homecoming organizers are planning for her absence.

Jones was to be honored at the parade, which will run from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, starting at Lander Avenue and Fourth Street. She also was to be part of the evening's homecoming football game halftime program.

Jones stars as varsity football Coach Beiste on the mega-hit TV show "Glee." She was nominated at last month's Emmy Awards for best guest actress for her recurring role on the show.
